IFMUS clinical hubs are local centres for training, scan review and research. Each hub has a director who is an IFMUS member practising in that geography.
About
IFMUS brings together family medicine professionals, researchers, educators and clinical leaders worldwide who are passionate about advancing ultrasound practice in primary care.
Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) lets a family doctor answer a focused clinical question at the bedside: is there free fluid, is this pregnancy intrauterine, is the aorta dilated, is there a deep vein thrombosis. Used well, it shortens the path to the right diagnosis and keeps care close to the patient.
Most ultrasound societies are organised around hospital specialties. IFMUS is the only international society focused exclusively on how POCUS is learned, taught, researched and practised in family medicine.
Together, we advance POCUS and strengthen family medicine worldwide.

Research
The IFMUS POCUS researcher network connects members who want to study how ultrasound changes diagnosis, referral and outcomes in family medicine.
Multi-country studies need sites. The network matches members who have a research question with practices that can recruit patients, and with colleagues who bring methods and statistics experience.
Members receive a monthly digest of new POCUS publications relevant to family medicine, with a short summary of what each one means for practice.
Diagnostic accuracy studies, education and training research, implementation in primary care, and guidelines from ultrasound and family medicine bodies.
Working groups
New members are invited to the groups that match their interests.
Common curricula and competency assessment for family medicine POCUS.
How POCUS changes diagnosis, referral and patient outcomes in primary care.
